Dave Jensen is the founder and Managing Director of CTI Executive Search, a unit of CareerTrax Inc, a consulting firm working in the life sciences. Prior to the launch of CareerTrax in 2001, Jensen was the founder and CEO of Search Masters International (SMI), a top biotechnology executive search practice founded in 1985. Dave Jensen's monthly column "Managing Your Career" has been a visible part of the biotech industry for nearly fifteen years; the column ran for twelve years in BioPharm and is now in each issue of Contract Pharma where Jensen is the Contributing Editor. He has published over 250 papers on management and personal development topics for these journals along with regular features in Genetic Engineering New, Life Sciences Magazine (Scandinavia), The Scientist, Biotech and others. He has delivered seminars and workshops in industry meetings internationally, including keynote presentations at career events held by Johns Hopkins University, UNC Chapel Hill, Vanderbilt, University of Rochester, UCSF and the California State University Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB).

Mr. Jensen is a member of the AAAS NextWave External Advisory Board and writes the popular "Tooling Up" column for monthly career tips and techniques (seen on the AAAS Science Careers website at www.sciencecareers.org). In addition, the AAAS recently developed a Science Careers Discussion Forum at the same site, which Dave Jensen moderates.
